What Is Fire Prevention Week?
Sunday, October 3rd marks the first day of Fire Prevention Week 2021. This week long event, which ends on Saturday, October 9th, is sponsored by the National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA). According to the NFPA.org, it is “the longest-running public health observance in our country.” (NFPA.org). During this time, emphasis is focused on how to stay safe during a fire and what to do if you find yourself in that situation.
2021 Theme
This year’s Fire Prevention Week theme is “Learn the Sounds of Fire Safety!” This will provide information and teach you about different sounds that different alarms make such as smoke and carbon monoxide alarms and what to do when you hear the sounds they make.
Stay tuned next week to learn more!
